What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a widely accepted
,established and recognised treatment and is used for
the alleviation and cure for many different problems such
as stopping smoking, weight control, improving self confidence
and so on. Hypnosis is a state of deep mental and physical
relaxation that you allow yourself to enter, you remain
completely in control at all times and aware of your environment
the whole time. The best way to describe it is to compare
it to the drowsy state just before you fall asleep. In
this relaxed state of being you are very open to any suggestions
made to you.
Life changing results can be achieved and the source
that brings about this change is within your unconscious
mind, that part of you that acts as your friend, guide,
mentor, advisor and memory bank.. However, sometimes your
unconscious has a different agenda to your conscious mind
and this is where Hypnotherapy is used to regain unity
and harmony and release any problems or unwanted habits
embedded in your unconscious mind.
Hypnotherapy is a very safe soothing painless way of dealing
with your problems, it's like having your mind massaged.
After one session with me you will be able to cope better
with life and its many stresses. You will feel more confident,
happier, more positive, feel more successful and you will
feel generally so much more relaxed and calm and I promise
that I won't have you running around on the floor barking
like a dog unless, of course, you want me to!
What can I expect
from my sessions?
Your sessions will take place in a comfortable, warm and
relaxing environment. We will begin our first meeting
with a full consultation of your case history where you
can talk openly and confidentially about your issues and
how they affect your life, having discussed these in depth
we will then start work on changing your life through
hypnotherapy.
How will I feel?
You will feel relaxed ,lethargic and perhaps a little
light headed but aware and in control at all times. Under
hypnosis you will still be aware of your surroundings
and your conscious mind will still be active. You will
not be asleep but you will find yourself in a very pleasant
trance like state of complete mental and physical relaxation
floating in a mist of drowsiness. After your session you
will feel relaxed, less stressed, regenerated ,more positive
and very confident.
Who can be hypnotised?
Everyone who wants to be hypnotised can be hypnotised
although the depth of trance depends on each individual.
How long can I expect
each session to last?
Your first session will last one and a half hours and
the following ones will be approximately one hour. The
frequency of your appointments will depend on your availability
and your needs. Clients often choose to see me on a weekly
basis.
How many sessions
will I need?
This depends entirely on the issues involved, under normal
circumstances I recommend 3-4 sessions, however some clients
feel it may be beneficial to opt for more sessions after
this.
To stop smoking will require only one session.
To lose weight is usually 5-6 sessions
Is it like stage
hypnosis?
Not at all, stage hypnosis is purely for entertainment
purposes, the "look into my eyes, not around the
eyes you're under" approach does not apply to hypnotherapy!
Will hypnosis work
for me?
Yes, if you want it to ,we will develop a relationship
together and like all relationships I do stress that it
requires one hundred percent commitment and motivation
from you as well as me for it to succeed fully.
Will hypnotherapy
stop me smoking?
Yes, but only if you want it to and only if you really
wish to stop you have to be certain that you want to stop
smoking I have to have your full commitment .
Will I gain weight
after I've stopping smoking?
No, under hypnosis I will put suggestions to your unconscious
mind that you will not substitute nicotine for food cravings,
the satisfaction that you believed you got from smoking
will be transferred to something better, more positive
or more pleasant e.g. Exercise ,relaxation or how you
will spend the money you save.
How will hypnotherapy
help me to lose weight?
Under hypnosis I can reprogram your daily eating routine
through your unconscious mind. I can pinpoint the times
that you eat most e.g. late at night, boredom etc. and
divert your conscious mind to think of other activities
and help you to focus more on the reasons that you want
to lose weight e.g. to look better, be happier, feel healthier
etc. I will ensure through hypnosis that eating will become
less important, and that you will eat in smaller quantities
and that the urge to become slimmer, healthier and more
attractive will take priority in your life. You will find
that, without questioning it, you will be automatically
eating less and more healthily.
